Starter problems after puddle adventure

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm in a bit of bother with my Mk6 fiesta 1.25 2006. I went through a reasonable puddle but made it out ok and continued on home. I got home went into the house for a short while then went out and started my car. Everything seemed fine, it started with no problem. Fast forward 2 days to today and it won't start at all. I've checked the air intake and filter, both bone dry. Checked the spark plug sockets again dry.

When turning the key I hear the usual sound until I fully turn to start the car. All I get is like a spinning noise coming from the starter motor area. It's like it's trying but not hard enough.

I'm thinking along the route of a used starter and replacing. I've multi metered the battery which came up correct but when I popped it onto the solenoid and the starter body it came up at 0.02.

Is there anything else I can check before replacing the starter?

Thanks
