Ranger clutch slave cylinder issues

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have a 2018 Ranger 2.2 Limited manual.

While driving my clutch pedal went flat to the floor.

Long story short.  It's in Ford's at the moment for diagnosis.

I think it's the clutch slave cylinder, which requires the gearbox to be removed to check it's at fault.

My issue is,  my warranty ran out 4 months ago. I was too busy to do it. Idiot!

I have only done 25000 myself and only being 3 years old,  does anybody know if there is a common fault with the slave cylinder?

Guys, does not anybody have any advise for me?

Hi Joe, you might have had more repsonce if you had posted in the ranger section. Some folk only look at sections relevant to the model they have.

As for being common issue, I've not heard of the slave cyl being a common fault on later rangers.

When you said it went flat to the floor , did it stay there or did you manage to get the clutch working again afterwards? The master cyl can  give intermittent pedal to the floor .

any fluid leaks from around the bottom of gearbox.

has the garage diagnosed it yet?

as for warranty . You could contact ford customer relations and ask for a contribution to cost of fixing assuming you have had vehicle serviced to all the schedules from new.
