sjc29
For the 2-3 weeks I’ve had to stand next to my car repeatedly pressing the buttons on the remote before the car would Respond. I replaced the fob battery and everything seemed fine on the first few attempts. Again it stopped working after a day or two so I used the key to open the door and followed the reprogram method in the book. Process seemed to be successful but it didn’t last long. I can’t see any mention of central locking fuses in the book so not sure what else to check? I have tried a different battery in the fob but with no success - I have 2 fobs and issue seems to be with both
Aldridge Andy
Bear with me on this one... with my mom’s fiesta of the same vintage which is used very little the car can on occasion seem to not respond to the key fob buttons. But when I put the car battery on charge and the car has a battery at full state of charge the buttons appear to work every time. Try charging the car battery first and see if that improves matters. isetta
did you buy quality fob batteries? I kept having this problem on my wife's mazda 2, i thought it was the batteries so i bought some cheap replacement batteries but kept having same problem. I then bought some genuine duracell batteries from a reliable source as opposed to duracell ones which could be fake from a less reliable source and the car has been fine since then, this was probably at least 3 years ago now.
