Fiesta ST no boost/high idle

Featured Replies

Hi guys.

My sons fiesta ST is running terrible and he hasn't a clue what the problem.

It’s not getting any boost and rubbish mpg, also idling just above 1000rpm.

He's been told it could be something to do with the purge valve running in the yellow pipe work on the picture below.

the video shows the symptoms.

Any of you guys had this problem before?

Any help would be appreciated.

Idling above 1000 rpm is normal for start when cold for a bit then should settle down. Think everyone might need a few more details to help though, model year, engine etc.

2013-17 it’s a 1.6.

Hi Mark,

Nothing had been changed on our Son's car, just suddenly came on going to work, check this other thread pal, he's found out what is wrong, he's changing all the pipes & connections/valves, costing him £120 though, since this has happened his car has used up half a tank of fuel in three days.
