Cambelt, water pump replacement cost?

Featured Replies

Hello,

I guess I need to replace my 2009 Ford Fiesta’s 1.4 auto cambelt and water pump at my cost. I am not sure how much to expect to replace them as well as drivebelt and pullys. Do you have a rough idea how much it will cost me?

thank you!

You don't need to change the pulleys unless there's something specifically wrong with them. I don't know how much they cost so at an independent garage, I'd estimate between £300-350 for cambelt, tensioner, waterpump and aux belt replacement.

Thank you! I will make some calls around to check. I am going to replace brake pads and other small things myself but for the big job I guess I need to ask for professionals.

I got some quotes and the cheapest one was £320 so I will go with that. Some garages asked for £390 😮.

Sounds about right with the new covid tax.

Remember cheapest isn't always better. It probably means they install a cheap timing belt kit/ waterpump.

I have just been quoted £900 by a ford garage to replace the timing belt and water pump for my 2012 ford fiesta 1.2tdci. Does that sound reasonable. It seems a lot to me.

yes extortionate as per usual from a dealer. find an independant at max around £400 if it all needs replacing

There isn't a 1.2 TDCI Fiesta.

Is it a 1.4 TDCI?  Or a 1.25 petrol?
