Mk1 Focus windscreen wipers not working

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

New to the forum and had a scan through similar topics to try and find the resolution but couldn’t see it previously discussed.

The windscreen wipers on my focus have stopped working. I’ve checked fuses and replaced but no change there. The motor still works and can see it moving and going up the gears as I increase wiper speed but no response from the actual wipers.

Has anyone come across this before?

thanks

My MK1 has had this, the wiper arms are connected to the motor via a control rod with a ball and socket, as the ball wears it can jump out of the socket under load. I found a guy on ebay who sells a retaining plate that keeps them locked together rather than replacing them.

Not sure if this is the same guy but it's the same bit of kit from memory.

Have you tried looking up the problem on youtube? coz there are some really helpful tips there that could resolve your wiper problem.
