A very quiet kitten, not very lively yet....

I suspect, like you, it's just getting use to being in his/her new forever home. Once calmed down and fully settled, I'm sure hours of fun will be had by all...

So we conclude:

8 out of 10 owners who expressed a preference said their cats prefer it 🤣🤣

Still a bit lethargic today but we're putting it down to having had a de-fleaing tablet last night and a worming tablet today 🤞

Not had much liquid so had to revert to a small syringe to get some fluids in. Later he/she had some wet catfood and spent the afternoon sleeping, just had another feed and is busy washing itself 👍 starts purring as soon as you stroke it.

Still very skinny but hopefully the worming tablet will be working to get rid of any worms etc and weight will start to gain a bit.

Not a great pic but...

What a difference a couple of days make!

For easiness sake we are calling it him just now! 😀

Weight when he arrived was 900grams! Now he's around 1200g 👍

Still feeling a bit bony on the back but a lot better, I dread to think what would have happened if I hadn't rescued him. I think a day or two would have finished him off 😢

I can't take any of the credit for how well looking he is now, all goes to Mrs Turvey and the daughter. Mrs Turvey even gets up at 5am to feed him.

“Please Pu$$y! Be reasonable”. Probably my favorite line from that movie. Because , no doubt, I have never seen anything named as such that was ever “reasonable”.

A few weeks ago, my missus was persuaded by a brown cat miaowing outside the kitchen window, to feed it. It is supposed to be a neighbour’s cat, but it has other ideas, it would seem. (it may be a she, but we are not sure)

I did not invite it in the house tonight, I did not invite it into my office, and certainly not up on my desk and behind the computer, but that is where it got to. It was not interested in the cats on the monitor, too busy looking for anything to kill or eat I suspect!

Any notion anyone has about humans being the dominant lifeform on Earth is obviously wrong. Cats control humans, so are the dominant lifeform. Just when the first cat domesticated some humans is unclear, some time between 7500BC and 1200BC according to Wikipedia. But they quickly worked out they could get free food, shelter and attention just by being cute, and have not stopped since.

Dogs look at their human as a God. Cats on the other hand look at their human as a servant or possibly as a bigger, dumber cat with less hair and opposable thumbs to open up their food cans. Cats, I have decided, see themselves as Gods.

A human who has a Cat is not allowed to sit or lay down without being forced to welcome the cat to sit on or near them. It’s a Cat “law” or something.IMG_3921.thumb.jpeg.be73ef72b7186a492f013bf25cdc7e4b.jpeg

I find his sleeping position somewhat perplexing at times! 🤷

I take it he's comfy? 😀

A cat that is sleeping in an exposed position like that is completely confident that it is in no danger.

Last update on the wee fella. Alfie, as he ended up being called, was put to sleep this morning! 😢

He went to the vets earlier this week for neutering. The day after he was a bit lethargic and not eating or drinking much so he was given anti sickness and pain killer injections and back home.

Still not drinking much last night and this morning his back legs weren't working right so back down to the vets to be kept in for observation.

Vet phoned later to say that his kidneys were failing with readings as high as they've seen. Given the choices, a week on a drip and daily blood tests with a very low chance of recovery or putting him to sleep and out of pain, the tough option was taken.

The vet thinks that he was probably a bit of an inbred cat and therefore more susceptible to problems. We had noticed his heart was always beating very fast even when he was sleeping which apparently is a sign of dodgy kidneys.

Last picture I took of him, he was a lovely friendly cat but not much of a knee cat, hence me taking a photo.

Sad news.

At least he had a good home and was cared for in his last few months. Sometimes things just don't work out.
