Help Please, am getting desperate!

Featured Replies

I'm getting desperate! I have recently replaced the battery and fuel pump in my 2003 2.3 Galaxy and now it refuses to turn over on the key. I can get it to turn over by working relay 53 by hand but as the fuel pump does not kick in that is a waste of time. I've heard that replacing the battery can trip the inertia switch, according to Haynes this is under the front passenger seat, mine is not. It is also not in the rear pillars or under the A pillars, any one know where the hell it is? Any other suggestions as to why she will not turn over? A couple of months ago (until the fuel pump quit) she was my daily driver but due to good weather, a decent motor cycle and apathy I put off replacing the pump. The battery was toast when I did the pump so I got a new one of those as well (expensive week).

Have you reset the BMS since replacing the battery? I doubt that will have much effect but it's worth a try, there is a sequence of button presses and headlight flashing that you can find on Google.

Is the inertia switch the same as the fuel cut off switch, one that would trip in an accident to stop a fuel leak?

Yes, fuel cut off/inertia switch are the same.
