2008 Diesel Galaxy, power comes in waves

Featured Replies

Heya! Bought my galaxy about 2 months back. Already been stung for a new clutch and flywheel in the first month! Guess that's just bad luck.

It's a 2008 Ghia diesel. On a recent trip (with a fairly heavy load of audio gear) I noticed when accelerating that the power was coming in waves. Not violently jerky, but just fairly smooth waves of power about 1 second on, 1 second off. When the power was coming, there was a slight whine from the engine that disappeared when the power was lost for the second, and then returned with the next wave of power.

No engine lights on or anything like that. Doing it in multiple gears. Seemingly only during heavy acceleration. Hoping the specifics can help someone narrow it down for me.

Cheers, Greg
