Ford breakdown service

Featured Replies

Hi.  Does the breakdown recovery cover the first 3 years of warranty?   Ty

No.  It only covers one year.  You have to have the service or convenience check done each year if you want to keep the Ford breakdown after the first year.

What is a convenience check and what does it involve, guessing oil and filter change at least,  and the cost. Ty

No, it's more of a quick look over the car, they don't change or service anything.

When I first ordered my car it was £34.99, according to the Ford website it's now £115. Some dealers do discount that, though.

a convenience check

Its a way to conveniently get you to vist the Ford dealrership with the hope that when you're there you spend more money with them. It's not for your convenience its for theres. 🤨

Not all dealers give you breakdown cover with every service, best to check with them first. My local one gives it with the convenience check but not the first full service (2 years, 18000 miles)

Good point, John. List of participating dealers attached. Just had another look on the Ford site and it doesn't seem to have been updated since I first downloaded it when I got my present car.

Thanks for that, I wish I had seen it before my 2nd year service. I just assumed that because I got it with my convenience check that I would get it again.

The only Ford dealer left in my area is Peoples, who are very good but not on the list.

My local franchise aren't normally part of national offers.  They are on that list though.  I didn't realise it wasn't all of them, will try & remember for future threads!
