As of the second of August, France has abandoned the requirement for UK licence holders with photocard licences to hold an international Driver's Permit and for UK registered vehicles to carry an insurance green card. Source: Ageas who told me this when I asked for another green card for the next trip home. Might save you from sitting on the phone for the afternoon.
