A few months ago I purchased a focus st MK3 diesel in stealth grey. Car drives perfect but have been having an ongoing issue with it going into limp mode.

 

The car hits red on the boost gauge when you floor it and I've been told if it hits red this means it's remapped?

 

The car only goes into limp mode sometimes when it hits red on boost so I think it may have a bad map on it and this its what's causing the issue.

 

Has anyone ever had this before or know how to resolve the issue?

 

I've had it back to the dealer twice, today will be the third time and they aren't sure what it could be.

Any error codes?

Yeah the dealership got a fuel pump error code so they changed the fuel filter but the issues still happening. Just took it back today but I think the issue maybe the remap as it's only happening when it hits red on boost. They've not changed the fuel pump yet but that's what they're going to look at now and speak with some other company's to see if they can find out if its mapped or not.

 

I will be taking it to puma speed in the future for their remap as they specialise in focus st's so if the garage can't fix this issue I'm hoping a good remap will do the job as it will replace the current map.

 

The car drives absolutely perfect so I don't think it's anything major, just every now and then when you floor it and it hits red on boost the car has a hissy fit and throws itself into limp mode which is why I think it's a bad map on the car.

Mine has same issue what was the problem think mine might be mapped too
