need help with pairing new keys

Hey, I've got and cut a new blank key from eBay but I'm unable to pair it with my car. I've done the trick of switching my car on and off 8 times but it doesn't work and I hear no chime. Will I have to go into the electricals of the car to pair it up? My car is a Ford Fiesta Edge 2011 btw. Thanks in advance..

    There are two parts that need to be programmed for your new key. The remote lock/unlock buttons and also the passive PATS transponder chip.

    The first should be able to be programmed using the method shown in the SY diagnostics YouTube video (See Below)

    The second part (PATS transponder chip) will need to be programmed using the licenced version of ForScan software (£10) download from here: https://forscan.org/download.html

    You will need an ELM327 lead to connect your laptop to the cars OBDII port

    Note: The option to programme up the PATS transponder chip of your keys using two other keys does not work on UK vehicles.

    Quite often the keys from eBay don't come with the transponder chip.

    Also the chips vary, eg. When buying one for a 2008 focus I had to be careful to make sure I got a 4d63 chip and not the 4d60 which seemed more common on eBay at that time
