Is this normal for my fan?

Featured Replies

Car is a 2016 Diesel, 1.5L SOHC DI TC Diesel DV5FD A, manual, 52,000 miles.

The car when started from cold switches the radiator fan on after 20 seconds. Air temperature is 13 degrees, engine is stone cold is this normal? Seems madness if this is normal. A fan running will not help a speedy warm up....

Have you got the aircon switched on?

As Luke points out the cooling fan will run when the air conditioning is engaged. The very fact that it does not cut in for 20 seconds means it doesn't have a faulty temperature sensor which would pull it in immediately.
