Aircon Blowing Cold

Featured Replies

Hello,

Around 6 months ago there was a rattling noise coming from the dash, aircon was working fine blowing at whatever temperature was set. One day the rattling stopped and now my aircon only blows cold air regardless of how long the engine has been running and what temperature it is set at. I drive a 61 plate Fiesta Titanium. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

May be a faulty thermostat, faulty heater core or low coolant

Is the Aircon only blowing chilled air? On a ten year old car you are lucky if it can do this continuously or do you mean that the heater is cold in which case, the solenoid valve has probably failed.

I probably should have said the climate control instead of the A/C. The climate control doesn't blow anything other than cold air even when the temperature is set to max.

Right. That is 90% certain to be the heater control valve which is electric and tends to stick. It isn't expensive and it is within the abilities of the average DIY er. Tons of them on Ebay; about £12.
