1.8 tdci mk4 mondeo flywheel

Featured Replies

hi having a problem think it's down to the flywheel.

I left my mondeo in a garage because the flywheel was rattling they said they have a second hand one there that only done 1000kms.

so I went for that and got a new clutch kit for it. they then told me that flywheel looked different but all dimensions were the same. same number of teeth same size. turns out it was from a 2.0tdci focus. I got car back and the car runs good but it's hard to get into reverse half of the time and I used to get 55mpg to 60mpg now I'm lucky to get 38mpg so am I right in thinking that the flywheel is the cause of this or could it be down to something else. cause its hard to get into reverse would this be cause of flywheel or due to not been blead properly.

thanks

You have the wrong flywheel.

thanks for your reply.

it definitely makes a difference does it. I'm just wondering because the engine runs good

The weight will be diffrent which will have an effect on gear changes. If the dimentions are the same I'm not sure why it would make any difference to the MPG.
