    Even a simple 'blade' key, like is supplied as the 'spare' has a built in chip which without it, will not deactivate the immobiliser so will not start the car. Pretty sure you can program a new key to operate the CL, even though it won't deactivate the immobiliser, but I have forgotten the programing sequence, someone sensible will be along shortly...

    I have the standard key I just like the idea of the RCL without the cost of cutting and coding!

    Diffrent models have diffrent codes, it might work but my guess is probably not. It would be like buying a Toyota key and expecting to be able to programme it to work on a Ford.
