Alarm problem?

Featured Replies

Hello all, hope someone can help!

I have a 2007 galaxy and when the alarm triggers the indicators flash but I get no horn sound?

The Galaxy has a seperate horn for the alarm system. On the previous model it was mounted in the wheel arch on the passenger side, it probably still is on your model. You need to take the wheel arch liner out to get at it.

Is it common for them to break? Would I need to replace the horn? How would I know if it’s the horn that’s not working?

Its not common for them to fail, but they do get quite a lot of crap on them due to being in the wheel arch. It might just be the wire/connector has corroded.

Use a multimeter and measure the voltage going to the alarm horn when it should be sounding. If you don't have a meter then use a 21W indicator lamp and connect it between the horn wire and the battery negative it will light up when the horn should sound.

Ok. Thanks. I will check this out.
is it easy to get wheel arch liner off?

hello newbie here I am having difficulty with my alarm, fault before when alarm was set of by dogs in car, or coincidence  then had (alarm service required ) on display took it to fords and they said they would have to put a new siren battery backup after diagnosis which is the box under the wheel arch so I brought of eBay the proper ford one from rates in Daventry  giving them my vin & reg they sent me one £228.00 after installing new siren  when i set it off vehicle indicators flash but no noise. vehicle does inform me that alarm has been triggered

I think the clue is in the message. Have you cleared DTC ? does the vehicle know that a new sounder has been installed and lastly since this forms part of the PATS security system I guess that the new sounder has to be programmed in.

I'm not sure if FORScan will work for you on a Galaxy 2006 model, maybe someone here can confirm ?

ok thank you for all you help . if someone can confirm that for me i would appreciate it .
