Hamid
Hi i am new here and got some questions. My car needs to be repaired and shop told me to buy two things. 1) Timing belt + water pump kit but there are so many companies selling it from £70 to £200 range, their main difference is Teeth Quant.: 144 vs 139. which one is for my car fiesta 2010 1.4 tdi (117000 miles) and is bosh company any good, I dont really know which company makes good belt. 2) My injector seals need to be replaced and the person who is going to fix it told me to buy good ones if i can from ford, firstly when i google i get the pack of 3 seals for injector like copper and 2 black one (photo attached), is this the seals for injector. What is the process of buying originals from ford them self, on their website the seals were not available
anon
The seal kit looks ok, the copper washers are very important so that is good. Generally speaking, Bosch products will be good; their belt will be fine. I cannot help you with the length though and the best thing to do is to find the correct part number from Ford and then cross reference. You say the car needs repair. Can I ask what is wrong with it? unofix
Ask your supplier if you can buy both belts and then return the unused one. Too many times have I checked part numbers before starting a job only to find the car I'm working on has a diffrent part to what in theory it should have had. Better to start the job with both options and take one back then be stuck with the wrong part.
BP2411
How come they've told you to source the parts? I recently done the injector seals on my 2009 1.4 tdci and I changed the rocker cover gasket and the seals on the leak off pipes as well as what you've shown above.

Hi, I can smell strong exhaust fumes in cabin if i turn on fans for heater or ac, the repair shop told me that i need to replace the seals after checking. anon
If your description is correct, there is no need for injector seals if the problem is a leaky exhaust and I think that is far more likely than the injector seals being the cause of the problem. Any garage that cannot get a trade account for parts that they can make a markup on should be viewed with the gravest suspicion. Watch out, Hamid.

BP2411
Is it exhaust fumes or diesel fumes you can smell? This could be an expensive mistake to make, mine was definitely diesel fumes, I changed the injector seals & cabin filter and it sorted it but as anon said, if it's exhaust fumes you're wasting your money. Avoid any garage not willing to supply & fit parts imo.
anon
Because if they make a mess of it and ruin your engine they will immediately blame the parts that you bought.
