Hey Guys

I own a Ford Fiesta S mk7 2013 and I need the wet belt/timing belt changed, does anyone know how much that would cost?

Just get a quote from your local Ford dealer,or independent mechanic.

you will be lucky to find an independant garage willing to tackel changing the wet belts.

Ford prices are around £1100 ish

Have to agree re independents,my local will not touch them, the specialist tools needed to do the belts are not cheap. He said it is not worth the investment.Ford dealers do them on a fairly regular basis. It is around the $1,700 mark here in Australia.Very labour intensive. The parts themselves are not to bad as far as pricing goes, it’s the labour which is the majority of the cost.

wet belt snapped

wet belt snapped

My wet belt has snapped on my 2015 ecoboost ford fiesta. Me and the wife were in Blackpool and the engine low oil presser light came on, the AA took us home, i took to my local garage and they cleaned out, there was rubber off the wet belt clogged the fitter. they gave me a bill of £450 , but what they did not tell me is that rubber that was clogging the fitter was off the wet belt, i have been to other garages and they said he should have advised you to have the belt change , because the wet belt will break . I went and seen the garage and they say it is not our fault, i said it is because you should have advised me to change the wet belt ASAP.

I take it your belt has snapped, it's a bit confusing as you're quoting other posts.

What do you want to know?

If your wet timing belt has snapped then the engine is scrap.

New engine supplied and fitted by PumaSpeed is £3400

I think I get the drift. On a previous occasion it seems the oil pressure light came on and the garage cleared the immediate fault but gave no further advice.

The belt has now failed which will, as Unofix has said, have caused catastrophic engine damage. One option is to source a new or reconditioned engine, another is to sell the car as a non-runner.

As the car is still (just) under 10 years old, you may, if the conditions are met, qualify for assistance from Ford, as below:

I didn't realise that the Ecoboost engine had an 'oil pressure' warning light. I had always thought they just had a "Game Over" light. 😉

It's the same thing mate :lol1:

Just like this modern thing of renaming job titles that some feel as less than 'glamorous', for something 'fancier' sounding e.g.

  1. Bin man = Waste collection operative
  2. Complaints/Sales handler (in a call centre) = Complaints/Sales executive
  3. Street sweeper = Highway Environmental Hygienist
  4. Shop Assistant = Customer Experience Enhancement Consultant
  5. Sandwich maker (Subway) = Sandwich artist

Personally, I reckon that all of the revised job titles are about as useful as the 'oil pressure' warning light on a 1.0 EB engine :shit:
