Fiesta Ecoboost 1.0L 2013 model engine replacement

Featured Replies

Hi all, bought this as my first car (am 17 years old)- sadly the engine failed due to the belt clogging up the engine and no oil getting through 😞  I really like this car and have found a replacement engine which is off a 2016 model and my question is will this be ok to fit or will there be issues further down the line with sensors etc?  I have a mechanic who can help me fit the engine.  Sadly a new car is out of my budget!

Should be all right. Get the mechanic to take the sump off and check the oil pump strainer for debris. If found, the belt will need changing which will be expensive due to the need for some special tools.

Thank you for your response.  I've decided to go for new engine as the belt does need changing and also as no warning lights came on I think the engine has probably sustained more damage as I drove it home hence my question re the year of engine.

I meant to do this for the new engine.
