Mystikal
Hi guys, I need some help: my dashboard LCD is acting strange this days: the lcd itself works, it even display some info in a yellow box when you turn on the car (something like "Press the clutch to turn on the car") but, after that, it just goes black and is unresponding. I've also noticed that the mirrors on the side of the car don't close automatically when you lock the car now. I don't think it's the display broken itself, do you guys have any idea of how I can solve this problem?
anon
Haven't seen this one before but it looks like the on board computer isn't working. The mirror control is accessible through the screen so that is a red herring. You will fix that when the screen comes back. First things first, the standard thing to do is the disconnection of the battery for ten minutes. Use a good spanner and ensure the connection is replaced properly. If that doesn't work: the computer gets its information from all over the car so it is unlikely to be completely inert. The screen is working so the problem seems to be communication. I would then be looking for a poor connection to the instrument cluster.

jamkart
Definitely disconnect the battery. I had more serious problems with no electrics working other than lights and central locking working and disconnecting the battery resolved the problem. jamkart
You only need to disconnect the positive connection.
