[MK3] Indicators flashing fast

Featured Replies

Hey guys.

Had to change my indicator bulbs as they were pretty faded. So decided to go with LED. But now I'm getting hyper flash?

It is ok with hazards on but probably twice as fast when indicating.

Only change 2 in the rear for now.

Read something about adding a resistor? Is this the easiet and quickest method or can you buy leds bulbs that don't have this issue.

I'm thinking it really doesn't make much difference in this cluster due to design so probably better with normal filament bulbs 🤔

It's easier to buy lamps that are CANbus compatible.

Any suggestions for some sold on amazon?

Are they PY21W?

For some reason I thought this was a MK3 fiesta, which then made me think that they don't even have a CANbus light out system 🤦🏻‍♂️

The ones above are decent enough but very pricey when compared with alternatives on the market.

Why do you want LED? If it's to get rid of the orange look in the headlight unit then I'd suggest THESE FROM AMAZON

If you want LED because they are brighter then there are lots of alternatives, I got mine from https://www.facebook.com/358424617678220/ his name is Andy and is well known and respected in the Ford Facebook groups - I can personally recommend him and his lamps. I've changed every lamp on my Merc with is products, and Merc are very sensitive with lamps, and I've not had one issue or error.

If you are still keen for LEDs from Amazon then THESE SEEM OK

Autobeam have an eBay page, I use their eBay page a lot because the postage is free. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/254464728425?hash=item3b3f479d69:g:cIAAAOSwxFVdyr4o

The autobeam lamps linked by @F0CUE work out at about £28.50 Inc P&P - use code 'LIGHT25' for a 25% discount.

The only lamps I can personally recommend are the silver ones and the ones from HNA
