Indicating Right Fault

Featured Replies

I've got a 63 plate Galaxy Titanium X that I purchased second hand in March. Not long after purchase we noticed 2 faults, one was the cruise control and buttons on the steering wheel weren't working etc, so took it to an independent local garage who replaced the clock spring which fixed this issue, dealer paid for the fix.

But the other issue we noticed was the indicator was not working when turning right sometimes. What I mean is that when you signal to turn right there is no flasher on the dash and the indicators on the exterior do not light up. It was quite an intermittent fault, sometimes is never happened, sometimes it did lots. Took it to the same garage who could not replicate the problem but we decided on purchasing and installing a new indicator stalk, which seemed to have worked.

Anyway, roll on another 6 months and the fault has come back. Does anybody have any ideas what could be causing this?

I'd just like to add that when the fault happens if you push the stalk a little harder upwards (this is whilst its passed the on position) so you are pressing it against it's limit then most the time the right indicator does start to work.

Very annoying because we love the car!!

Sounds like a faulty indicator stalk to me.

It might be worth replacing the bulbs. I spent hours trying to trace a fault on my focus which turned out to be a dodgy bulb. When I tested the resistance on the bulb, it was all over the place. This causing the BCM to isolate the circuit. It would certainly be the cheapest option anyway.
