Handbrake stuck

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

Apologies if this particular situation has been mentioned here before, but I've not been able to find this scenario in particular.

The handbrake on my 2007 Galaxy is stuck on. I was able to release it by disassembling the center console and releasing the mechanism using a flathead screwdriver. The handbrake appears to work normally and goes on and off without a problem, as long as I release it using this method.

I thought the cable might have been stuck from the handle, so i disassembled it and the cable appears to be intact. That said however, I am unable to pull it, it is completely stuck and does not action the release mechanism.

Any ideas of what might be going on and how i might go about fixing this?

Thanks in advance
