Ford transit mileage

Featured Replies

Hi,

I recently bought a Ford Transit 2.2 Tdci with 170.000 km  on the mileage. The seller said that he drove the car carefully and also did not overload it often. Now I wonder how long the engine will last. I have read that the Diesel engines of transit vehicles are quite resistant and also last a long time. Is it realistic to drive another 150 or 170 k kilometers with the Transit?

I don't know much about transit vehicles, therefore I would be thankful for any help:)

I'm confused 😟 what are talking about here, "imperial miles" or "metric Kilometres" ?

Surely if you are in the UK and it's a UK specification Transit then it will measure distance in miles?

my bad!

I was born and raised in Germany. My father is from the UK, that's also why I moved to Perthshire 2 years ago :D. Apparently I still mix up the metric and imperial system.

The mileage is at 170.000 miles.

It's a pity it wasn't kM it would be a lot less.

You should get close to 300,000 Miles if you look after it, lots of regular oil and filter changes are the most important things.

Thanks for your advice!

If I can drive another 130.000 miles it would also be nice. I'll definitely drive carefully and do many oil and filter changes 🙂

One more question because you seem quite educated on this topic 😄

I use my Ford for work. My father and I are janitors, and we need a van racking system so that we have more order and structure in my Ford. It should also be easier to find the things we need, so we don't waste time looking for them. I have already researched on the internet and found this page: https://www.mysortimo.co.uk/en_UK/products/van-racking. They have good reviews, but I can't really tell if they are good or not. Have you had any experience with them or any other company that offers good van racking systems? Last question, I promise haha 😛

Hi Charles, I've not used that racking system but an old friend of mine had a very similar one. They are not cheap (cost more than your van) for the full system but they are good.

Thanks a lot for the quick response, I really appreciate it 🙂

Then I will probably even get one of these 😄
