Locking wheel nuts? 2017 Focus ST Line

Featured Replies

Hi everyone. I have just part ex’d my 2010 tdci which gave almost 6 years of faithfull service for a late 2017 1.5 ecoboost petrol STLine. I stupidly stupidly forgot to check for the locking wheel nut when I picked it up from a dealers about an hour away from where I live. The car has 18 inch alloys and all the wheel nuts look the same. Have tried pulling the wheel nuts with my fingers to see if they are just covers or if one was a cover but none came off.  I looked for the locking wheel nut in the glove compartment, under the carpet in the boot (no spare wheel just tyre weld and some sort of compressor) and in the Center console etc but can’t see it anywhere. Called the garage who apologised but suggested if there was no obvious locking wheel nut on the tyres (which the old car had and you could see), it probably does’t have locking wheel nuts. Does this sound right? Does anyone have similar car / wheels and could confirm please. Really kicking myself as I think I remembered everything else I was supposed to when I picked it up…. Thank you in advance

If you can fit a 19mm socket over each nut then you don't have any locking wheel nuts.

I've also bought a Focus, this one a gunmetal grey 2018 mk 3.5 ST line 140 with the grey 17" multi spoke factory alloys. No locking nuts on these ones either which surprised me. Assumed all alloys would have a locking nut. Assumed wrong!
