Temperature gauge staying on zero

Featured Replies

Can anybody help me?

My car temperature gauge is staying on zero most of the time.It moves up slightly but just goes back down to zero after a few seconds. Also the fans blow out warm air within 30seconds of starting the car? I have had the temp sensor changed but the fault is still there and there are no fsults showing on diagnostic! Any thoughts on what is the problem? Thanks

Btw its a 2014 ford focus.1.6tdci 115.Any advice will be great.Thanks

Your car will have a what Ford calls a Supplemental Heater, which is like an electric fan heater that will come on when the outside temperature is low and switch off when the coolant is warm enough. That is why you are feeling hot air through the vents shortly after starting.

You may have a Thermostat problem or an electrical problem relating to the gauge, impossible to say from here, further investigation would ne required.

Diesels engines are very efficient and it can take several miles before they get up to temperature. If you are just pottering around town at this time of year then it will take a long time for the gauge to move.
