Hi I have a 14 plate Ford Transit Minibus its a psv vehicle with an emissions plate of 0.21 however it has failed its Mot due to emissions being out. Its had a Regen an engine cleaner put in but still they are too high. Any advice as to how to reduce the rate would be welcome tia

    Do you have the emissions reading?  If it's not far out, take it for a hard drive to get everything really hot and working under higher pressures to clean it out.  I'm guessing a minibus is usually driven sedately.

    If the reading is much higher then there may be a fault that needs to be rectified.

    As above. Also check the air filter, how dirty is it? When was it last replaced?

    Use good quality diesel

    Change oil & Filter (use correct oil)

    Change air filter

    Change fuel filter

    Take on a long run and hold it in a lower gear for at least 10 minutes once the engine has been run for at least 20 minutes, ideal engine speed is about 3,500 to 4,000 RPM

    Before you take it for re-test make sure it has been running for at least 20 minutes
