Surge in Revs whilst driving

Featured Replies

I have been driving a 2015 Ford Fiesta 1.0 automatic from new and have never had a problem with this beautiful car. However in the last month the gearbox has been behaving very strangely. 3 things are happening whilst driving and it happens at any speed:

  1. The car will increase its revs to as high as 7000 revs with no warning and I have to lift my foot off the accelerator to let the revs normalise
  2. The converse also happens where the revs go down and there seems to be a starving of fuel and power decreases
  3. On a very few occasions i also noticed that when stopping on an incline, the car seems to change to neutral and does not immediately engage when pressing the accelerator

Can someone please help if you had a similar experience

I’m guessing that you have Fords Powershift transmission. When did you last have the transmission serviced (transmission oil and filter change) ?
