Ford fiesta ST mk7.5 key fob

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have got a mk 7.5 fiesta st. This morning the key stated that it had a low battery therefore, I changed the battery as I normally do when the car shows this message. After doing this the car would not lock and was saying that the key was not detected. I have been using my spare for the majority of the day. I've looked at the motherboard in comparision to the spare which is working and it appears a piece is missing (right is the spare which is working, left is the key which is not working). Has anyone had this happen to them and does it look like I need a full new key?

Thanks 🙂

Looks like you are missing a surface mount component.

If you know someone who works in mobile phone repairs that would be an easy fix.

Failing that you may be looking at a new fob.

Can you get an in-focus photo of the area on the spare key fob? If it’s just a “jumper” you could get away with a repair bridging with some insulated wire.
