Ford Fiesta ecoboost first service.

Featured Replies

Hi, my other half’s 69 plate fiesta 1.0 ecoboost is due it’s first service. Ford want £307 , what does the first service entail , might just get the parts and get an Indy to do it. Cars done 12000miles.

Unless things have changed in the last couple of years, not a lot - oil and filter change, pollen filter and various checks, plus breakdown cover (provided your dealer participates in the scheme.)

Mine was about £100 less, btw, but almost 2 years ago now.

Ford Focus Mk4 first service, oil changed, filter changed, quick wash (No breakdown cover) = £270 at local Ford dealer.

Thanks for your reply’s, I thought it was quite steep.

My local Ford dealer wanted £353 for my mk4 Focus, fortunately I had a Ford service plan that I bought previously for £259 which covered 1st year convenience check and 2nd year service.👍

Ours mk4 Focus has only been back to the main dealer for the recall.

All servicing has been at an independent garage ( Brother in laws) but mainly for the convenience as he picks it up and drops it off and leaves us his jeep to use in the meantime. Costs wise IIRC was £165 for the 2nd year service.

My only issue is as the car gets older will it need more modules updating but don't know if Ford actually do this during services or not.

Ask them whats included in the price, the brake fluid is changed every 2 years, does the price include that? Does that dealer still give the 12 months breakdown cover with a service? You could get them to do the bodywork checks for the paint warranty.

Service schedule from the Fordetis website;

Yes, updates are applied if needed/available.

check on Fordetis to see if any are listed on there.

Ford EcoBoosts require special 5W20 stop start oil if I remember correctly which you can get for maybe £40/£50 from PartsPlus which is Fords parts supplier, filter is probably about £10 and you could do it yourself or have a friend do it. You would/should keep your warranty as OE parts would have been used but obviously wouldn't get service record updated.

Thanks again for the reply’s, pretty sure it’s oil and filter , pollen filter , and brake fluid change. The garage we bought the car from Hendy Ford in Chichester have been pretty hopeless since day one hence why were reluctant to use them.

That wouldn’t keep the warranty, servicing needs to be carried out by a garage.

There are other Ford dealers in the area.
