More power on focus mk3,5 1.0?

Featured Replies

Hello.1.0 mk3,5 car originally 125 horsepower, reached about 145-150 horsepower.
Tune/Remap was done.
Air filter K&N 54s-4000.
Exhaust 21.6 inch (55cm) from downpipe to end, with free-flowing resonator and free-flowing muffler.
Sports shocks absorber.
225/45/17 wheels
Sprint Booster
Out of curiosity, could something else be done so that performance will be increased? What do you suggest?
Under no circumstances should catalyst be removed/deleted.

I think intercooler is the next step, followed by a larger turbo.

I wouldn't bother, get an ST

Thank you for the reply. So only intercooler or a larger turbo should be the next step? isnt there anything else?

Not really. And you're not going to get that much more anyway. And the costs rise sharply now too.

Start with a larger engine is the best idea.

Thank you for the information. One last question.

Did you tune your car? Is it necessary that the catalyst must be changed after tuning (first stage)? otherwise engine's life will be shorten because of extremely high temperatures?

Yes, I am running 148BHP and K&N

No, exhaust temperature will be the same as standard, unless the remap has buggered something up

I meant engine temperatures, because here some claim that after tuning the catalyst should also be changed or the engine will be damagen in time because of high heating. That is why i am asking?

Are you satisfied from tuning and K&N?

What K&N do you have?

Sorry for any language mistakes, I am from Greece.

A good quality remap should not affect the operating temperature of the engine or exhaust

It's OK, it's a large car with a small engine. Mine is an automatic also, so started at 125PS.

If you want more power you need a bigger engine (ST)

Just a K&N replacement element
