Ford Fusion 2 transmission warning light when driving on wet roads

Featured Replies

Hello!

It already happened 3 times, whenever I drive through wet roads during or after heavy rain, the orange transmission light pops on the board and the car starts behaving erratically.

I cannot rev up the engine or it completely shuts off.

After getting dry it will get back to normal.

Does anyone know what could cause this?

Thank you for your time!

I should mention it's a manual Ford Fusion 2 from 2008

what engine is it? what speeds are you doing when it happens? are you at a steady speed or accelerating ?

that aside, have you tried reading it with a code reader. Without any other information its going to be almost impossible to say what the problem is but if i had to put a guess on it i would say your going to be looking for an electrical connector somewhere that has water ingress and is earthing out on something. That is 100% guess work without more information though.
