I have mk8 fiesta zetec and had my Xperia XZ premium attached for over a longtime just recently I removed the device as I had iPhone 13 which has now gone back as not compatible with car

I have now attached Bluetooth the Xperia all is good apart from when I get a call the car ringtone plays and also the phone plays its ringtone on the phone

I know this did not happen before me messing with the iPhone and having to do a master reset

Any ideas how I can just get the car ringtone to play and stop the Xperia playing its tone on the phone speaker

Looked in Bluetooth settings of phone and only have the following all on

Call Audio

Media Audio

Text Messages

Contact Sharing

I have a sync update available on a usb as the car is on sync 3.0 and didn't have this prior to me messing

Lesson learned and do not want to update sync incase it pops up another issue

I found a setting in Phone which I had "use phone ringtone" is that helps?

Thanks In sync I've looked all that's in there is no ringtone then 3 or 4 pre installed sync options no other options, wonder if I need to do another master reset as that option is not showing

Can anyone else with a Mk8 fiesta 2018 confirm options in the phone section on sync 3 please ie do they have use phone ringtone option

In two minds to do another master reset or just do the update to 3.3which I got from ford website for my VIN

Not sure why that option is missing if indeed it is, surely selecting a car ringtone should stop the phone ringing aloud from its own speaker as well as the cars own tone

So I've done another master reset and used the update file I did last year by usb

Shows sync 3 build 19205 is this the latest version or is there more and if so do they install incremental ie enter into Ford site as done then search you get the next one?

 

 

Have you tried on your phone? My samsung, on the Bluetooth screen there’s an advanced options menu, in that I can switch off/on phones ringtone when connected to a Bluetooth device.

Hi thanks for the answer no my phone is Sony xperia as is my wife's which is a newer version cannot see any option bluetooth shows these active

Tried an iPhone 13 that did the same totally confounded why it didn't before the master reset

Anyone know current latest build for non navigation sync please?

Ford site says gas update but not sure if its the same one I've installed will try at lunch

OK so updated again to sync3 build 20204

See how that goes, any idea how  update to 3.1or 3.2
