Focus 1.0Ecoboost rough idle when cold

Featured Replies

Hi all,

My Mk3 Focus 1.0Eco boost has been rough idling when cold for several weeks now, once warm it seems OK. I've had the injectors out, changed the seals n given them a good clean out and they seem to be spraying fine. Changed spark plugs, cleaned sensors n filter and it's still not any better, in fact it's actually started to pick up a misfire now on both 1 & 3 piston.  One thing I have noticed is that the start stop isn't working, I've checked battery voltage n it's reading around 12v.

Has anyone had this issue before?

Do a forum search on 'stop start', everyone with that 'feature' has issues! Your voltage does appear to be a little light, charging the battery should kick start the function into action, but it will eventually fail again...

Just found the p053f fault code and checked battery voltage and its sat around 11.9v this morning,  I reckon the battery's on its way out causing the LP fuel pump to under perform.

What happened/did you get a new battery?
