Front washers work on switch for rear washer

Featured Replies

Recently bought a fiesta 1.25 and the front washer jet works when you try to activate the rear washers. The front washers will spray but the wipers won’t clear the liquid but the back wipers will start to wipe nothing. Nothing happens when I try to properly activate the front washers by pushing in the side of the stick. Does anyone have a solution?

Maybe there was a fault with the pump and the hoses have been swapped over.

I think you need to access the pump at bottom of the bottle. See what’s going on there with the pump / pipes / wires.

Well I'll take a stab in the dark and say the previous owner had a problem with the front screen wash not working and so they have either swapped the pipes over on the pump or they crossed the front/rear wiring from the switch.

Does this car have two pumps or one?  Some like my wife’s Mazda has one pump with two outlets the pump spins in different direction for front and rear washer.
