Groot
I'm installing a dash cam and everything is going fine. The only niggle is finding a suitable earth point. Can I use one of the nuts (see photo) for the fuse box surround, it seems (should be?) connected to the chassis? Thanks very much.
Luke4efc
Should be fine. No harm in trying it.
Jonro2009
I'm not sure they actually tap into the chassis, so may not work. There will be an earth point somewhere close, you may need to pull the carpet back a little to find it. Groot
I've gone ahead with using one of the nuts as I could later see this metal casing was welded to the chassis but I'm only assuming that should be a definitive answer as I don't know a lot about this stuff and testing. Nevertheless, it's working and at some point I'll install the rear cam too if I haven't blown up the car by then! Thanks again.
