Locking nuts gooched

Featured Replies

Well having found the locking nut key for my mk2 focus, my happiness was short lived when i found that the centre of the locking nut has been bust..

Anyone had any luck getting these off itd the one with a thick solid collar round it.

Any suggestions welcome, thanks.

Usually they are made by McGard and I believe you can buy a new one from a photo of the top of one of nuts. Edit , sorry misunderstood I thought you meant adaptor chewed

Thanks bud but its the actual nut that is bust and i cant get off the wheel :(.

I usually either air chisel them off or use a small die grinder to remove the spinning collar and smash a socket over top. As a last resort I'll weld a nut on. You have to be careful with this so you don't damage the wheel.

If it were me, with no tech skills whatsoever, I'd take it to a tire place (KwikFit, or whatever your usual is). This is bread & butter stuff for them and they have specialist tools to deal with this...
