Fiesta mk7 gear knob/cap - need help !!!

Hi , the 4 pegs that hold on the gear stick cap on my fiesta have snapped flush with the gear knob , I’ve tried removing them with tweezers (because there’s no room for pliers or anything) but I can’t get enough grip. I tried removing the gear knob itself but I cannot get it out without the leather coming with it. What should I do ! I have bought a replacement cap it’s just a matter of getting the pegs out that clip into the gear knob . Thanks , max
