Tailgate release switch not working

The correct way is to take the panel off the inside of the tailgate and then press the spring clips in on the handle.

However with the use of a couple of old credit cards you can slide them between the handle and the bodywork on the outside of the car and push the clips back.

If you buy the replacement first you will understand how it fits and how the clips can be pushed back.

Did mine a few weeks ago, though only one bulb and no camera on my estate, but I think the fitting is similar in principle. Def. get the new part first, as I damaged the old switch on removal. Not so bad that it wouldn't work, but it needed a bit of glue to stick it back together.

 I ended up using a medium size flat bladed screwdriver to prise out each of the narrow ends (L and R). There's a straightforward electrical connecting plug on a flying lead and then the new switch itself just pushes in, with the spring clips holding it in place.
