Hi guys, don't know if u can help, I've been having the engine malfunction coming up on my ford focus zetec s 2010 it's petrol.

As I am driving sometimes the engine malfunction will come on with reduced acceleration and  the car with squiggly lines will come up and the speedometer clock will stay at 0,

now if I stop and restart the engine this will go off and then maybe a day or so will come back on again, it's intermittent tbh, I took it for a good drive yesterday to Cardiff and back (from the Rhondda) and it didn't happen, but happened again today.

ive had the car a year and a half now and it's in 93000odd miles on the clock, the last service I can find on the car documents is 2019  I had the car in July 2020 I've been researching on here , it's had about 2 diagnostics in the last 3 months, and comes up with instrumental cluster each time, I used  the obd reader and luckily it give me an error code u0001.

it's going in for a service tomorrow I'm hoping that would rectify it, but if anyone could shed light that would be great, seems to be a common fault on the instrument cluster by sounds of it, but could it be doing it now due to needing a service maybe? 

Sorted the car out myself thanks to looking on here and u tube, I managed to resolder the board and it works just fine no engine malfunction or warning lights,💪
