Washers and DRL not working.

Featured Replies

How we doing folks. My washers and wipers don’t work and my passenger side DRL doesn’t work. Been told it could be the BCM. Anyone had the same issues? Been told it’s £1500 to replace but don’t fancy paying that kind of cash out. Thanks

Has anyone tried the plugs on the back. Eg. Unplugging and plugging back in and checking pins for corrosion

Tried that also. The DRL comes on for maybe a day then goes off for weeks and the washers and wipers work sometimes.

Sounds like you have a loose connection somewhere

All most certainly a fault with the Body Control Module (BCM). There is a problem on some models with water getting in to the BCM and causing corrosion of the pins on the connectors and of the tracks on the circuit board.

The BCM which is part of the fusebox in the passenger compartment is located behind the glovebox. Disconnect your battery before removing the plugs and sockets from the BCM. Check the pins for signs of greenish corrosion and/or signs of water or dampness. If there is you may be able to clean things up and spray a little WD40 on the connectors and pins.
