Focus 2010 Mk 2.5 Fog Light addition

Featured Replies

Hiya

I've had a bit of a search on this one and turned nothing up so far.

When I used to be involved in Fords quite a lot they were well known for installing wiring etc for equipment that wasn't actually fitted etc. For example I had a 99 Escort that I wanted to fit front fog lights to, with a little investigation I found the plug was fitted behind the dash and the looms were tied up on the front radiator crossmember and all that was essentially needed was the split fog light switch an additional fuse in the fuse box and the fog lamps themselves and voila....

I've not collected my 2010 focus yet so haven't had chance to investigate yet but thought I'd post up anyway.

Is this or was this still a trait Ford were known for on these cars? I'd like to fit front fogs to my quite basic focus but if it's a major wiring job I'm not quite as enthusiastic.

Thanks guys

Sorry to say that these days cars get the bare minimum, they only just manage to fit the wires that's essential.

If your lucky you might have the wiring in the boot for a trailer module !

Thanks for that - it was worth an ask.

I asked more in hope than anything, I recall being able to add allsorts of little extras for next to nothing with a quick fill your pockets trip to the local scrappers, courtesy lights, boot lights, glovebox lights and as above front fogs.

Yes, I remember the 80's and 90's when you could do that. I used to fit front driving lights to my Orion's and the side repeater indicators as the wiring was already there.
