2018 FORD ECOBOOST 1.0 PARKING BRAKE problem

I have just bought the above vehicle which has a parking brake which says "A" on it in the centre of the vehicle between the front seats where hand brake always was when it i press the A the light comes on and if i stop on a hill and press my foot brake the car stops and holds and then when i press accelerator it releases automatically So far so good However when i get out of the vehicle and press button on key fob to lock it and everything goes of ie lights etc i can move the vehicle if i push it Why does the parking brake not stay on when the vehicle is locked ?

    That button is for Auto Hold, not for your Electric Parking Brake. You need to read your manual.
