Hydro engine mount

Featured Replies

Hi. Just feel like sharing it. Today I replaced top engine mount, drivers side. I was surprised how easy it was. I have 1.6 tdci and it vibrates bit more than petrol. It wasn't any gap on the mount before,  now it's about 10mm gap. And less vibration.

lack of a gap on engine mounts can be a good indication they have or are failing. a good way to check if your unsure put a block on a jack and take up the weight of the engine. lift it enough to lift the engine a few mm but not lift the car. then shake the engine while its pivoted on the jack.

The rubber disc washer was squashed and worn out slightly. I wonder if rest of the mounts are worn as well.
