Tow Bar

Featured Replies

We need to get a tow bar fitted to a Ford Galaxy Titanium. If you have had one fitted does it interfere with the parking sensors? Or did you get a removeable one fitted?

You need the Ford trailer module fitted. Your 2018 Galaxy is controlled by Canbus, you can not just connect in to the lighting wires.

The car will also have to be programmed to know that it now has a towbar fitted.

Read this thread on fitting a Towbar to a Ford Kuga, it should help.

I had Towrite fit my towbar, it was suggested I had a detachable but I went for a fixed, yes it does interfere with the sensors, but when I fit a cover on the towball it can be positioned to not interfere, take it off and sensors pick it up, cover it all ok, would I have a fixed one again maybe, I had a problem with an Hyundia IX35 towbar making caravan too low at the back and a ferry operator did not want us to board the ferry till I adjusted the height of caravan which I could do on mine but could not have done on a detachable. So I would still go with a fixed one.

Try Towbar Express. They come to you and fit at your home / work. They can fit dedicated electrics too which are plug and play so when you plug in your trailer / caravan the canbus system recognises the trailer and switches off the rear parking sensors, rear fog light and blind spot sensors (if fitted). When unplugged, all returns to normal. Mine fitted to the Kuga was the best part of £500 cheaper than getting my Ford dealer to fit it.
