How to change the coolant hoses on the MK7?

Featured Replies

Has anyone changed the coolant hoses themselves for fiesta mk7? I found one guy only who did it for the ST. He said to remove the alternator, but maybe can be done without doing that. Has anyone managed to do it without removing the alternator or is that the only way? It does seem a bit tight, but hope I might be able to fit pliers under there ! What do you think? I have searched and I haven't found anyone else who has talked about changing it themselves? Is it more common to have the mechanic change these hoses? Or might not be often needing to be changed. Thanks for looking!

What engine?

what specific engine (eg size, fuel and n/a or turbo)

It's 1.6L petrol. Not sure of the rest, have to check later. Going to test if some pliers will fit, but may not be any good if I can't get visually inspect the replaced one and clamp when it's done anyhow. I think there are notches to get it lined up though so it might be ok.

You may have to take of the alternator to do it depending on how fiddly you want it, it's not hard to remove an alternator, and I'd recommend that for ease of access
