Does the map get updated automatically via wifi or is there some other way?

I was driving on roads opened about 5 years ago that didnt show on the screen yesterday?

I have enabled wifi and auto updates.

Auto updates aren't very reliable use this:

Tried this, but the instructions are confusing and incomplete. Downloaded and unzipped the files to my flash drive, but have no ides how to physically download to the vehicle. Nothing happens when I install the drive into the usb in the car?

If you're really fed up with the Ford version you can try this:

https://cyanlabs.net/applications/syn3-updater/

Syn3 Updater 2.0 will allow you to update the stereo of your Ford car and automatically prepare the USB Drive ready for you to insert into your car

Its not Ford approved so do your research but i've done mine and its working fine.

But lately i've been using Waze and Android Auto as its so much better at finding places and updating traffic info.

Tried this over the weekend 

2 hours to download 

2 hours to unzip 

1 hour to install 

I installed and got latest map

but no sound on navigation 

I preferred sync 2

Yesterday when I installed map

it came up with an error 

And told me to download map again 

went out this morning map updated

and working perfectly ?

With regard to no sound on Nav, try a master reset. You will lose all stored favourites etc but you will get all prompts back.

Had to do this when I updated from official Ford site.

Thanks the sound came back this morning
