Missing ECU

Hi I'm a newbie here, need help with a ford focus mk3 st250 2015 I bought from auction, didn't realise it was missing ecu, I got a used ecu and got it virnginised was told to do adaptating which I know nothing about, but then I've seen ecu kits that's still need re programming.

Do I sort the virgin ecu or go for ecu kit and which would be easiest to get car running it's given me headaches trying to find someone to program it and ford want ££££££.so any help will be great I have bought a forscan.

    Hello Shane, start by reposting this question in the FOCUS forum and you will probably get some helpful answers.  You are going to need a lot of help and amazing good luck to get a random ECU to work.

    Have you got the full version of FORScan with licence ? you will need it for sure.

    Which ECU is missing would help. I presume PCM?

    When you say Ford want ££££££? How many £s do they want?

    If you've fitted the replacement PCM and have both keys, then I can't see why Ford shouldn't be able to sort it with about an hours labour - you will need the registration document back in you name.

    The process to fit to your vehicle is:

    1: Confirm the PCM is the correct one for your model/spec/year

    2: Download and install the factory asbulit (configuration) files

    3: Download and install the latest Firmware

    4: Programme both keys
